I think I am in love, again. There isnt much new in this new watch from Montblancs Villeret location manufacture but it is a beautiful thing. This is going to be a top-of-the-line dream watch for many. Totally hand-made movement, world-class finishing and the romantic Minerva spirit that Montblanc was lucky enough to acquire. Checking it out for myself I can confirm it is a lovely piece -though intentionally made for smaller wrists. The watch is the new for 2011 Montblanc Collection Villeret 185 [...]
This is the year of the Submersible collection and the Carbotech material for Italian watch maker Panerai, and the two watches you see here set the tone for the brands SIHH 2019 releases. Utilizing Panerais trademarked Carbotech material, the?Panerai Submersible Carbotech 42mm PAM 960 and 47mm PAM 1616 watches come in a new modern color scheme to capitalize on the contrast provided the unique material. Also welcome is an option in a notably smaller size to reach enthusiasts without Stallone-like [...]
Hello pretty lady (watch). How are you doing? This is a good-looking watch, and I am not afraid to admit it. I wouldnt wear it maybe, but Id check out the woman who was. An alternative to Cartier in style and refinement (but not that long history and multitude of celebrity lovers) Bedat Co. is a sexy little number you should be saving up for to get her if you really care that is. Ladies, if you are reading this. Have no qualms about setting your heart on one of these. The No. 8 watch comes in [...]
At BaselWorld 2014, Breguet revealed two extremely complicated halo-pieces, humbly titled the Breguet Classique Complications 3795 and 3797,?each featuring a tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and, in the case of the?former reference, an extensively and exquisitely skeletonized movement and dial. We went hands-on with both the Breguet Classique Complications 3795?skeletonized watch, as well as the non-skeletonized 3797?version in red gold. Given that these pieces are very much indicative of what th [...]
Sponsored post presented on by advertiserTheres a definitive mystique that surrounds bronze as a material. Ancient, tough, and constantly evolving with patina, the bright warm tones and unique properties of bronze have made the metal a favorite among watch enthusiasts looking for a more unique case finish. Rado has added another layer of warmth to this distinctive material, combining it with deep luxurious red tones for a dramatic look. The new Rado Captain Cook Bronze Burgundy stands as one of [...]
There are few more enthusiastic groups of collectors than the Paneristi. An almost masonic enclave of the watch collecting community, the knowledge and passion of these aficionados is an awe-inspiring thing to behold. And I would guess that the Panerai Submersible Mike Horn Edition will be to their liking. This new model is available in two subtly different references: an unlimited run with green Super-LumiNova (PAM00984), or a 19-piece limited run with blue Super-LumiNova (PAM00985). Made for t [...]
With a wide, flight instrument inspired square case paired to a conventional diver dial, the Bell Ross BR 03-92 Diver has always been something of an unorthodox entry in the luxury dive watch market. For summer 2020, the brand has returned to this adaptation of its signature design for a new variant that turns away from some traditional dive watch cues and embraces the more aggressive night diver aesthetic. The resulting limited edition Bell Ross BR 03-92 Diver Full Lum creates a more cohesive [...]
Hublot is a brand that I respect a great deal. Every brand loves to state that they are forward-thinking and revolutionary and innovative and care about society and make the best watches But Hublot is a brand that is doing a tremendous job with all of the above. And its this initiative that has set them apart from so many other brands. In the clip above, Revolution Magazine and TheTimeTV.com have captured Jean-Claude Biver (the other JCB), discussing the brand and how its positioning itself. [...]
I would like to offer a gracious invitation to Miami, Florida-area audience members, to join myself and Parmigiani Fleurier on Wednesday December 7th, 2016 for a what should be an entertaining evening of high-horology and automobiles. I am further excited about the gathering since this will be our first invitational event in Florida.Together with Parmigiani weve planned a fun night starting at the Parmigiani boutique store in the Miami Design District. There we will check out a special limited [...]
The longer the retro-watch kick endures, the longer I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand many of the pieces bore me into a comatose like state where all I can think about is how the slathering of modern luxury values on vintage tool-pieces feels wholly unsavory. On the other hand, there is a sort of freshness, in the revival of classic designs that are good not because they are classic, but because they were so entirely focused on a smooth blending of both form and function at the tim [...]
At Basel 2011 I was surprised to see these new dive watches from Perrelet. The brand has recently focused a lot on formal and sport so I should have expected a good diver, however, I never saw these coming. The Seacraft collection is interesting and appealing though parts of the designs seem to be influenced from elsewhere. My biggest question is how much Perrelet paid SeaCraft boats to use the name? Personally, I dont think about boats when I hear the name, I actually think about Star Craft. The [...]
Major auctioneer Christies is currently running their first ever online-only auction, The Essential Watch Collection These days, were all accustomed to researching watches online, and then, very likely also buying them online. Major auctioneers have for a long time been trying to get a piece of the eBay pie, and the plan is to approach the sale of vintage watches online by offering a curated, safe environment where watches are vetted by professionals and available through a trusted source.Christ [...]
I am going to talk about a patently lavish, intentionally outrageous, and easily offensive timepiece covered in diamonds that I am kind of into. This totally one-of-a-kind creation is new for 2015 and is the Jacob Co. Billionaire watch that founder Jacob Arabo produced in collaboration with Italian Flavio Briatores Billionaire fashion label. I first wrote about the Jacob Co. Billionare Watch with more background information here.Let me be rather clear that I am not the type of person who Jacob [...]
As famed Formula 1 race car driver Michael Schumacher announced his retirement, Audemars Piguet also announced his new limited edition watch. A few days ago I debuted the Royal Oak Offshore Michael Schumacher Limited Edition watch here via Forbes. You can visit that post for details on the watch as well as more images. Here Id like to offer some thoughts, humor, and more views of the watch itself. It was about two years ago that Audemars Piguet announced their relationship with Schumacher and th [...]
Born from a desire to wear chino shorts, boat shoes, and a Hawaiian shirt,?IWC is bringing forth a new summer timepiece known as the IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Summer Edition watch. The Portugieser line has been a mainstay for IWC for many years now and is often the line that the Schaffhausen manufacturer exercises?their implementations of complicated movements with. The watch is designed with a deliberate nod to the casual. As I alluded to earlier it would be at home on a leisure ya [...]
Baselworld 2013: Welcome yet another?Omega Speedmaster for you Omega fans out there, the Omega Speedmaster 57 Co-Axial Chronograph is a vision of the past with new guts. We are just two months ahead of the luxury watch fair SIHH 2017, so it was about time for a head-turner pre-event teaser, which in this case is the-you guessed it, vintage-inspired-Panerai?Radiomir 3 Days Acciaio Brevettato PAM685 and PAM687 watches. Some cool details here, so lets take a look, before we go hands-on with it in 8 weeks time.As far as dive watch lore is concerned, Panerai has been there since the beginning of mans mid-century race to the bottom of the sea, and has a number of extr [...]
As we look back on the biggest trends of 2017, the heritage movement might still be white-hot, but lets not forget that some of the years most interesting watches have been unabashedly modern, with an aesthetic all their own. The Oris Aquis collection has long carried this distinction, and for 2017, enjoyed a slew of fresh updates to the founding design-the first set of updates since the indie Swiss brand introduced it in 2011. We recently had a chance to check out the newest addition to the Aqu [...]

The vintage-inspired?Rado Golden Horse 1957 is a throwback to one of the brands classic designs and succeeds by not straying too far from the original. Available in either a blue (as seen here) or green gradient dial, these 37mm-wide watches come on an old-school grains-of-rice bracelet and are limited to 1,957 pieces. The dial is done with the same style indices, hands, red-date, and twin decorative golden seahorses, while the thick box-shaped sapphire crystal tops off the throwback vibes. The h [...]
